To facilitate the association’s next national conference we will be hosting an open call for critics and scholars to discuss potential foci and partnerships. In years past, our organization has partnered with exceptional institutions, including the Balanchine Trust, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and others, and commissioned papers and keynotes, that have helped expand conference conversations for broader relevance and engagement. If you’re interested in being part of the conference planning committee, I hope you’ll join us for this call, Monday March 5th 8:00 to 9:00pm EST.
To join us, please email your interest to conference planning committee member Robert Bettmann ( RobertBettmann@Gmail.com ) for the call in number.

Please go to the members section, http://www.dancecritics.org/login.html , to download the new Spring/Summer issue of the DCA News.
The issue has reflections on dance critic Edwin Denby, responses to the attacks in Paris and elsewhere, and more.
We are pleased to announce that the Capezio® Ballet Makers Dance Foundation has awarded the Dance Critics Association $1000 to support our Kamikaze dance writing workshop at our next conference. The proposal submitted to the Capezio® Ballet Makers Dance Foundation was a portion of a larger proposal that has been submitted to the National Endowment for the Arts.
We have now completely reinstalled the WordPress software, and everything seems to be working (finally!).
We will initially be using this part of the DCA web site to post member news. This is a work in progress, so have some patience while we work out the kinks.
