Membership

General Information

In addition to the quarterly newsletter, DCA News, all members of the DCA receive a directory of members, an early invitation to register for the yearly conference, as well as e-mail updates on news and issues relevant to dance critics, writers, and editors. DCA members also receive discounts on events sponsored by related organizations.

There are two general types of membership: voting and non-voting. Voting members must provide two published (print, broadcast or web) reviews with their application. The DCA offers a senior discount to members over the age of 65, with a photocopy of your ID. (But DCA has a very modest annual budget; if you can afford to pay full membership, it is greatly appreciated.)

The DCA also offers a student membership, which affords young or early-career critics the same benefits as the regular membership with the exception of voting rights until they become professional critics.
